The conversion of the former Altrincham Conservative Workingmen’s Club to create a restaurant and bar located within the Old Marketplace Conservation Area of Altrincham town centre. The conversion respects the building’s heritage and retains as much of the existing fabric as possible. Internal walls are stripped back to the existing brickwork and lime-washed, new internal additions are designed as industrial insertions within the existing spaces. The existing front elevation is sensitively modified to create an active and animated street frontage. The existing window openings are enlarged to allow improved views in and out to facilitate alfresco covered street dining with a vibrant and animated engagement with the street.
