The redevelopment of an existing car park within Altrincham’s town centre conservation area. The scheme provides Trafford Council with a new multi-storey car park and two new apartment blocks providing a total of 70 dwellings for private sale. One apartment block expresses the gateway location on Regent Road whilst the second wraps the car park to present an animated residential face rather than that of elevated parking. The design, whilst contemporary in form, makes reference to it’s setting within the conservation area to ensure that the resulting development will not only benefit its immediate location but will also make a significant contribution to the continued regeneration of Altrincham.
