A new build 2 storey contemporary family home on a prominent corner site in Hale, Altrincham. The primary focus of the house is to the rear south facing garden. The layout is L-shaped in plan which screens and protects the private outdoor space from the impact of traffic noise and overlooking from the surrounding streets. Externally the house is expressed as two interlocking forms clad in opposing materials. The lower brick form extends as a defensible garden wall. The upper lightweight rendered box is cantilevered over the lower form to create visual interest and allow the building to successfully turn the corner.
